Psychosis is a mental health problem that causes people to perceive or interpret things differently from those around them. The main symptoms are hallucinations and delusions, these can cause severe distress and a change in behaviour. People with a history of Psychosis are more likely than others to have drug or alcohol misuse. It is sometimes possible to identify the cause of Psychosis to a specific condition, such as bipolar disorder, depression, schizophrenia, traumatic experience or stress.
