Counselling Services in London
Counselling is an endeavour that often has a clearer focus than psychotherapy for example a bereavement or particular crisis. The nature of more clearly defined concerns tends to result in a limited number of sessions. It is never possible to know how long it will take to work through a concern/s, therefore we always suggest to start with six sessions, if you are finding them helpful then we continue.
What to expect from our Private Counselling Service
We offer both Face to Face and Online Counselling. The sessions involve us meeting, talking and listening together with the mutual purpose of paying careful attention to your concerns and gaining a greater understanding of your own particular situation. It is a shared process and the therapeutic relationship can only be nurtured in a safe and dependable environment.
We work carefully and respectfully, honouring your privacy, autonomy and independence and your freedom and ability to make choices for yourself. Within the therapeutic relationship you can explore your physical and emotional feelings, your thoughts and behaviours and the contexts in which they arise.
Our team of counselling and therapy experts are experienced in speaking with people about a wide range of the types of concerns brought to private counselling. The perspective we offer is based upon our clinical experience, knowledge of theoretical approaches and experience of our sessions.
As a team we are experienced at working with over one hundred concerns and issues brought to private counselling and therapy services. The profession of psychology is constantly evolving as the human condition gains greater understanding however core to all therapeutic approaches is a set of tools in which all our team are trained and experienced - so even if your concern is not listed we recommend an initial session to explore whether we can be helpful.
We have many years of experience, and provide a wide range of Face to Face and Online Counselling and Psychotherapy services. We also offer many approaches including Integrative Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, Neurolinguistic Psychotherapy (NLPt), Psychodynamic Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Existential Psychotherapy.
Often we struggle in something which has been experienced for an extended period of time and has arisen at various times throughout life or it is something completely new that disturbs our present life. Counselling is relevant where there is a sense of struggle. Counselling is a type of talking therapy that can be used to treat emotional and psychological concerns.
Couples and Relationship Counselling can be a positive experience at any stage of a relationship, new challenges and possibilities arise where counselling can facilitate growth, change and alleviate conflict. Very often, it is helpful when one or both of you are feeling misunderstood or isolated, or when you identify negative and destructive patterns.
